The initiative

James lives in Adelaide but is studying at the Box Hill Institute in Victoria. The long commute is due to James’ passion for mechanical services, which unfortunately is not offered by his local TAFE as an in-depth program. For James, the $2,000 Next Gen Reece Grant means a huge reduction in travel costs. His passion for mechanical plumbing began in high school and has been strong ever since. He plans to continue expanding his knowledge across all plumbing areas.

Mechanical plumbing is all about regulating comfortable air temperatures, which is fundamental to not just general comfort, but the safety of the elderly and children

James Noble

James is a 20-year-old third-year apprentice plumber from Adelaide. He wants to learn about refrigeration and achieve a Cert IV. He’s looking forward to finishing his apprenticeship and saying goodbye to his nine-hour commute to Box Hill.
