The initiative
Leonay Public School is located at the foot of the Blue Mountains, about an hour’s drive from Sydney. Adrian is the Assistant Principal, and he noticed an opportunity in a large outdoor space that’s currently being unused. Adrian would like to develop this space into a sustainability area for the school, teaching the students about the water cycle, the importance of the environment and understanding their place in the ecosystem. The project will involve landscaping garden beds that will grow fruits and vegetables, including native bush tucker plants. They will also install a water tank with sustainable irrigation, with the assistance of the landscaping team at Profile Landscapes.
