The initiative
The bushfire season in 2019/20 was one of the most devastating that's ever hit Australia. Over 3,500 homes were lost, 18 million hectares of land burnt, and nearly 3 billion animals killed. In the aftermath, the Reece Grant was flooded with submissions for projects to rebuild homes and recover communities. We redirected all funding raised until June 30 to assisting with bushfire rebuild projects with a focus on those on who had lost their primary place of residence.
15 projects funded. $200,000+ raised. Hundreds of lives changed.
