- Cold Home Audit to Improve Rural Victorian’s Quality of Life See Project Updates
Substandard housing is a challenging issue for lower-income Australian families. These poorly insulated homes increase the risk of respiratory and other diseases, with higher energy bills meaning less cash for food and other essentials. Bob Evans is a retired energy auditor who wants to treat the problem at the source. Bob is conducting a pilot program in the Macedon Ranges in Victoria to demonstrate how easy it is to fix these issues with proper insulation and double-glazing. If successful, Robert hopes to roll out a state-wide program.
Even the smallest temperature increase has a positive effect on health and wellbeing.
Bob Evans worked in the power industry for over 30 years, including working as a senior engineer at the State Electricity Commission of Victoria. He’s also worked as an accredited energy auditor across the state.
