The initiative
Lilier Lodge is purpose-built accommodation for cancer patients. Built by Can Assist and the NSW Cancer Council, the lodge has 20 rooms for patients who are receiving treatment at surrounding facilities like Riverina Cancer Care and Wagga Wagga Rural. Its patients often come from other regional or rural communities, and the Lodge is a welcome source of comfort in a traumatic time. However, the Lodge is 15 years old and urgently needs upgrading. The heating system is failing and requires major servicing and updating. Andy Linn, a local Wagga plumber, is an expert in hydronic heating. Andy’s Reece Grant will be used to install new radiators throughout the hallways, upgrade the two boilers and replace worn components on the existing radiators.

Places like Lilier Lodge are invaluable. They need all our support to continue their good work.
Andrew Linn
Andy started plumbing 29 years ago, and his own business has been going strong for ten years. His wife works at Lilier Lodge and told him about their urgent maintenance needs – he surprised them by applying for the Reece Grant in secret.
