In 2018, Cyclone Gita struck the Polynesian kingdom of Tonga. It was the strongest cyclone to ever hit the country and caused long-lasting damage. The Mullane Foundation first visited Tonga in October last year to lay the groundwork for two projects — the rebuilding of GPS Kolonga Primary School and outfitting the local Alonga Disability Hospital with hot water for the first time. With the help of the Reece Grant, the team visited Tonga again in September to extend the facilities and perform vital repairs.
We pride ourselves on not just going into a community and adding facilities, but in educating and empowering the locals as well.
Mullane has been a plumbing company in New South Wales for over 90 years. The Mullane Foundation was founded to give back to communities who are without basic sanitation or infrastructure. Alongside their work in Tonga, they’ve assisted on charitable projects in the Philippines and Papua New Guinea.
